I didn't even consider it along those lines. If you weren’t aware, the original Half-Life is almost entirely beloved. Personally I think playing black mesa first will not be as amazing unless you know where its origins came from, Id say play half life 1 to experience what was at the time an amazing feat for gaming, once you go to black mesa you will see all the love that CC put into enhancing the game.
